Crossroads Arts Council, in partnership with Wentzville Parks and Recreation, are working to tackle litter in Wentzville by sponsoring the annual trash can decorating contest. The goal of this effort is to raise public awareness of the need to help prevent litter in our local parks and community. We want to highlight all the parks and facilities offered to the public and the positive effects they have on the recreational activity of our community. The contest is open to students who live in Wentzville.
The contest will run through April 1, 2025. A total of 12 trash can artwork designs will be selected and six of those winners will win a $25 prize. Each trash can will display two works of art (one prize winner and one runner-up).
The art clad trash cans will be placed in parks throughout Wentzville in Summer 2025.

2024 Winners
Crossroads Arts Council recently partnered with the City of Wentzville to encourage school-aged artists. The artists were challenged to create an image inspired by “My Favorite Things to do in the Park”. 2024 Winners were selected to have their creations transferred to covers which have been placed on trash cans in Heartland Park and Progress Park. The winners were Elise Allen, Melody Messmer, Sowmya Kollipara, and Adalynn Lauman (not pictured).
